RCN General Secretary and Chief Executive Professor Nicola Ranger, said: 鈥淣ursing staff fought hard to see the worst of these reforms pared back and it鈥檚 right that the 5-year route to settlement will remain open for most care workers already here. As we called for, it's also incredibly significant that registered nurses from overseas will be recognised for their extraordinary contribution as public servants and remain on a 5-year route to settlement. That's good for migrant nursing staff, patients and our services."

Proposed 2.4% NHS pay award would be a betrayal of nursing staff, says RCN
RCN General Secretary and Chief Executive Professor Nicola Ranger, said: 鈥淎 proposed pay award of 2.4% is on course to be below inflation and would be a betrayal of nursing staff in our NHS. Our hundreds of thousands of members working in the health service will be furious today, and they are right to be."
